New Brunswick fishing
#1
For those who fish in New Brunswick (and other Maritime provinces) I recently started a new forum and was hoping to attract new members. I was a member of a popular fishing forum in NB however it has been down for several months now, frustration got the better with nowhere to chat during closed season.

While I`m in fishing mood, has anyone else come over from the UK as fisherman (and women) and taken up the "sport/hobby" in Canada?
I just started last spring, it was quite a change going from coarse fishing (long rods, bait and all that) to small spinning rods, using plastic worms, spinners and lures.
Sea fishing especially from the beaches is almost unheard of here in NB which is a shame as there are miles of great coastline for fishing. More room for me I guess when I can track down a store that actually sells surf/beachcasting rods!

I do a bit of beach casting down off the Southern Shore here in Newf (St Marys & St Vincents area) when cod fishing is open - Its quite popular as when the cod are in you dont have a lot of room for casting error with the guy next to you almost on your shoulder

My husband loves Canada for the carp fishing (crap fishing as i call it). The Canadians think hes a bit weird but he loves the fact that the carp he catches are all "virgins" unlike the carp fishing in the uk where they can actually recognise and name their carp!
