From my window I can see.....
Me....
Four rabbits (two black one brown and a huge white one) hopping around in the snow-scattered grass.
The hobo's who are permanent residents of the bush over the road are tenting down for the day, one of them has been staggering around, strange substances may be involved.
A large old lady in a badly fitting pink jumpsuit-type ensemble waiting a very long time to cross the road....she may be American ? Or an Armenian refugee.
An almost-auto wreck involving some very long pipe sticking out from a van and a very angry motorist.
An unstable dude on a BMX bike holding a Timmies in one hand.
Snow on the mountainside, cloud over the valley.
You.....?
Rich.

Hmmmmm, a pair of curtains that I need to hem, a mad cat that keeps trying to hang off my leg and fireworks out of my window!

Re: From my window I can see.....
From my nice warm condo, sitting in front of a nice warm fire (well, as gas fireplaces go), sipping a beer ... I see a big pine tree, some snow, a cool bamboo twirly thing and a Calgary Herald newspaper box with a headline about homeless people freezing on the streets because the shelters are so over burdened.

From my window I can see Mount Baker with snow caps, the ocean, and although very dark almost everywhere, a bit of sun peeking out over the mountains.

Re: From my window I can see.....
My office overlooks Cash Corner (southwest corner of the intersection of Centre Street and 12th Avenue South). It's a corner on which many men and a few women stand in the morning and wait to be picked up as day labourers. (Note that the people to whom I refer are not hookers. The hookers are a couple of blocks over.) By this time of day, there sometimes still are a few guys hanging around Cash Corner. However, at this moment CC is empty, so I guess everyone who showed up this morning found work.
Otherwise it's a bit overcast, but every now and then the sun looks as if it's trying to break through. The sidewalks are clear, but there is some snow lying around here and there, left over from the snowfall we had a few days ago.

The snow-making machines at the Canada Olympic Park. It opens on the 10th!
My boys were out in the front yard trying out their skis/snowboard respectively last night in the dark. The elder persuaded the younger to try skis instead of his board ..... hmm. Just convinced him that skis suck apparently!

The parking lot of the community association building across the street. Not sure what is going on tonight but there are vehicles coming in a steady stream.
What has surprised me more than anything is that there approximately 70-80 vehicles in the lot and by far the fewest in number are cars. They must be outnumbered by Mini-vans, SUV's and Trucks eight or nine to one.
Ahaaa I think I figured it out.
It's hockey registration for the little ones and they are all coming in their gear except for the skates of course.
Cheers
Steve
