Hey Mrs B!
I sure am back, with a shiny little visa and my PERMANENT RESIDENCY IN PLACE!!!!!!!

Went down and spent the night in Great Falls, went swimming with the kids and hung out generally.....now off out for dinner and to see Madagasgar 2 to celebrate!
We are very happy to be permanent residents of Canda, and feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders!
Thanks for your support

Thanks guys! One of the big reliefs is now I don't have to continue with my college course, which was driving me mad lol! Instead I have been accepted on to an addictions program which the U of Lethbridge acknowledges, so feel like I have got a bit of me back.
The college have been awesome so I'll continue tutoring for them, work for immigrant services and studying via distance to become an Internationally certified addictions counsellor by the end of next year - thank God for transfer credits! So I am really really pleased the way life has turned out. The aul fella and the kids are settled, and life is good
It was a rough ride for a while, but I would do it all again!

Well it's true that what you put in to life is what you get back out.......but it still doesn't sit right when you hear of expats who are completely rude about Canada wanting to get their PRs.........actually I find it quite sickening. And they aren't just rude about the Canadians they are actually very racist to everyone else too.............
It horrifies me to hear of expats who run Canada down, moan about it and are disrespectful of it's nationals, I think the easiest way to become accultured to Canada is grab it by the balls and make the very best of it. I have also been horrified at some of the racist views and attitudes that exist here from some of the British! It's as though they think that because they are white and European they are a better class of immigrant to Canada, well it is what is says on the tin, they are still immigrants, just ignorant immigrants who refuse to embrace multiculturalism, and they are often that prejudiced, they can't even see the irony of it.
So if you are busy moaning all the time then you will never get the benefit of this great country....it's time to let the British colonial attitude go that some English have (being Irish, I have spent quite some time listening to this kind of crap), and start being the one who changes their outlooks, after all, we are the guests here! And that applies to those whose outlooks are laden with bigotry and hate.
I have learnt alot in this process, the prime thing being, we are all responsible for our own happiness, therefore, we have to put ourselves out there and embrace change! And in the 2000s immigration is the norm, whatever your creed, color or race is, and no person is better than any other....colonialism is a thing of the past, and if some refuse to let go of that attitude - head south! For anyone who has ever spent time in Spain, and seen the English communities with their English flags etc, who refuse to speak spanish, you know the point I am trying to make! I hate racism to the extreme, especially when you see small children internalise the hate shown toward their people and then grow up, believing they are what those people infer they are, as there are very few other messages that are heard as loudly as hate.
And if my views are totally against what is acceptable, by some of the natural rednecks around here, if they are hippyish, and lefty, then good, I'll suck it up and be pleased with that! At least I am happy in being true to myself.
