Each to their own I guess. I had a similar experience with Bladerunner 2049. Got about half an hour into it then got bored.

That was a little slow. Think the only reason I stuck with it was I was watching the 4K version

I did look gorgeous. Unfortunately I was watching it on an Air Canada B767 on a small screen.;)

Seriously? A film thirty years in the making and you watch it on a small plane screen! I can't count the number of epic films that have been available on planes, but I've deferred until a larger screen or cinema.

I loved the sound and visuals in Blade Runner 2049. The sound especially, that film needs a good sound system and sub.

Well I'm not sure what to think about Annihilation. It was a bit slow for my liking, but a solid 6/10 for special effects.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Very disappointing. Gave up after nearly an hour and fast forwarded to the end.

As a Luc Besson movie, doubly disappointing. :(

When I read about this, I thought it would be a 5th Element style thing; weird but very cool.

Then I seen the trailer and thought my god that looks bad!

Brawl in Cell Block 99

Not for faint hearted, lots of graphic violence, but a decent movie if you have 2hr 10 mins to kill. 7/10 on the Danny scale.

Sounds a bit more than a brawl

The Pirates Of Somalia

Canadian journo, Jay Bahadur, visits Somalia. Could be a companion piece to Captain Phillips.

On Netflix.

Got around to The Circle tonight. Deathly dull and I gave up.

Much more fun was Unlocked...a spy/thriller type. Old hat but enjoyable nonetheless. I even got past my intense dislike of John Malkovich, but the role suited him.

A favourite French movie. I'd forgotten how good Mina Tannenbaum was.
