Moved: Proud to be British....

NOT!!!

With acts like this going on it really is a wonder that the Brits don't a much more hostile reception everywhere they go. What kind of society would make somebody think that it was okay (or even funny or worth filming) to do something like that.

Society doesn't think that. I don't see what any of the link has to do with Britishness?

Plainly one suffering the effects of reefer madness.

Anderson had smoked a cannabis joint and been drinking when he and two friends spotted her.

What a disgusting twat. He's not going to enjoy prison much, if he gets sentenced there, which I very much hope he does.

I know what you're saying but somehow (for me at least) there is a distinction between a genuine phsycopathic mass-murderer who is clearly insane versus someone who decided it would be funny to commit such an obscene act as this. Its more reflective of a serrious social breakdown isn't it?

This has nothing to do with being British, and I'll be the first person to point out this country's problems. Just because this happened in Britain does not mean that it's a breakdown in society. Every country has its own problems - America has a high gun crime rate, yet I don't think, "I'm going to get shot" every time I'm in the company of a Yank. Nor do I suppose that people are now going to think that British people are going to start pissing on them.

Yes, this guy is an utter scumbag, but I fail to see how this reflects badly on our society.

Whats even more alarming/upseting is that his friends watched and videoed it, according to the Sunderland Echo some women arrived as well and they all laughed.

Why arent these people being prosecuted as well?? Is there nothing they can be charged with?

I don't think "being Northern" is a crime. Yet.

Why, you ask? The answer lies within the article itself:

"The 27-year-old shouted "this is YouTube material" as he degraded Christine Lakinski, 50, who had fallen ill"

As Biiiink was saying, this has nothing to do with Britishness; it could've been any feeble-minded individual, from any society that considers "being on the telly/YouTube/you-name-it" the greatest thing one can achieve in a lifetime. Morality? Decency? Humanity? Dude, this is YouTube material, yo!...
