I'm sooooo happy that the Proclaimers are passing through Calgary again this May. I saw them in my first year out here and it sure does make you homesick but at the same time,we saw them in a local nightclub at $14 a ticket, when would you ever get that back home.......

It was quite funny to see everyone out there with their scottish or british shirts on, there was a few wearing kilts and lots of crazy drunks - thats not how we act is it ???

Anyway, this year has lacked in good gigs for me so far so this one i look forward to. Anyone else going along on May?

Aww yeah Id love to see them again. I saw them about 6 years ago in Leeds and thought they excellent then. I couldnt make it when they came to York about 4 years ago I was 41 weeks preggers so couldnt risk it.

I hope to see you there.

Yeah I know!

True though, Other Scottish bands lost a bit of the accent, especially in studio recordings, but that thick Leith accent can't be mistaken with the Proclamiers.

I'm just proud of hearing Bathgate (raised there before moving to Livingston) get a mention in "Letter to America".

Should you be owning up to that on the net???

We booed them offstage when I was about 12 at the Radio 1 Roadshow, Portobello Beach

I've bought some of their stuff since but they're hibees so it's hard to listen to

The Hue & Cry guy was rector of Glasgow Uni for a while. Did he stand as an M(S)P too once? Or am I thinking of the Runrig guy?

Pat Kane (Hue & Cry) was Rector of the Uni of Glasgow, from 1990 to 1993. I think you're mixing him up with Donnie Munro (Runrig), who was Rector of Edinburgh Uni from 1991 to 1994. Munro stood for Labour in Ross, Skye and Inverness West in the 1999 Scottish election, but was defeated by a Lib Dem.

I had to teach my wife the real meaning of 'Cap in Hand' yesterday. She'd been singing it for years without realising what it's really about.

Claim to fame: my former boss had the Proclaimers' home phone number (dunno if it was Charlie or Craig) once upon a time ...

We used to see one of them and his wife a lot when I was at Gillespies, someone said one his kid was in Sick Kids long-term, or that their manager lived on Marchmont Rd, or maybe both or neither... dunno! I always meant to apologise for the Roadshow booing but found myself shouting "speccy git" at him again... teenage tourettes or something Dawn, tell them I'm sorry and enjoy the show
