yup. Glasgow airport is shut down.

Expect more stringent airport security. US is already upping security measures. Edinburgh is already turning away cars on approach. Rumor has it other airports in UK are starting to do the same.

Yeah I only found this out about half an hour ago - dont watch the news in the UK as it depresses me !

Apparantly problems at Edinburgh Airport too as they are not letting cars up the approach - passengers have got to walk up to the terminal.

does anyone know whether they have said it is a terrorist attach ????

Apparently the two guys in the jeep leapt out the car (one of them on fires) started tossing gasoline around and shouting Allah Allah. I belive it has been classified as a terrorist attack.

Good god - sounds like everything is starting again eh !!!! But why Glasgow and not one of the other large airports. Would have thought that manchester or Birmingham would have made more sense for the impact of an attack ???

Just been watching it over here on CNN. Check out witness and airport worker Steven Clarkson's account: http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/new...tm?bw=nb&mp=wm

Here is Sky news website: http://news.sky.com/skynews/home

There has also been a bomb blown up at an airport in Ibiza http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...273085,00.html

It's shocking and very scarey for people to witness this. Lots and lots of kids would also be at the airport.

Wonder how this will impact the big Diana concert tomorrow?

Britain is on 'critical' alert of an imminent attack

Oh yeah - forgot about that.

And tomorrow is the concert for Diana and security has been upped.

The bomb in Ibiza airport (or near it) I think is attributed to ETA.

I heard on the news last week that there was talk of planned terrorist attack on day Gordon Brown took over as PM. Scotland would make sense in that case.

Apparently the two guys in the jeep leapt out the car (one of them on fires) started tossing gasoline around and shouting Allah Allah. I belive it has been classified as a terrorist attack.
YYZ love the way you worded that, so made me laugh

Thank goodness all of the attacks have been by incompetent terrorists. What a bunch of idiots they must be.

Paul

Check out the airport Website - each airport has an important messaage on their home page to let you know what restirctions are in place.

Glasgow started back in full operation at 0900BST this morning - with of course any restrictions that have been put in place.
