Default Moved: Bloody weddings...

Some of you may remember that Mrs C spent a considerable sum last Sunday on a new outfit for a wedding we're going to later this month. Today it was wedding present day, so off goes SWMBO to buy a set of Royal Doulton crystal wine glasses from the Royal Doulton shop at Fairview Mall.

Nothing could be more straightforward you are thinking.

Oh no! Back she comes with no wedding present, but the proud owner of another, even more expensive outfit.

"What was wrong with last week's then?"
"Well, it wasn't quite right".
"So you'll be returning it, then?"
"Oh no! I can wear it another time".

Give me strength. (And a 649 win).

Its a girl thing - be prepared, there will probably be at least one more outfit purchased before said wedding - my average is 3 outfits, 4 pairs of shoes and at least 2 handbags per wedding event!

Thing is, Steve, we just went to an office at the Town Hall. No fuss at all. But that was then and this is now.

I know the combination to the purse where she keeps the credit cards. I think a trial separation may be called for.

We got married with absolutely zero notice to anyone - I had one hour to get to the shop and buy an outfit - ended up with a blue flowery dress and god-awful hat that I wouldn't wish on my closest enemy! Good thing he wasn't marrying me for my fashion sense.

We arranged our own wedding 'do' - a relatively quiet affair - and gave close family and friends a month's notice. That way no interference from MIL.
Result? They all expected me to bowl up the aisle in a maternity dress. Quite disappointed I think that they weren't about to become grandparents.....
When I finally did announce I was pregnant three years later (long pregnancy, I know), MIL said with a poker face 'Well, I hope you're not going to rush this like you did your wedding'.......GMS.

Ah, it's fuss you don't like. Women LOVE fuss, good or bad. Best stand back and keep your mouth shut.
