Looking for some advice on purchasing a new Mountain Bike.
I was wondering if it would be cheaper to purchase my new full suspension bike here in the UK and then take it with me when I go.
OR
would it be more cost effective to just wait and buy a new one when I get to Canada?
Anybody got any links for decent MTB suppliers on West Coast Canada?

The biggest savings are found at ski resorts this time of year - the 2015 mountain bike rental fleets are sold off at 40-50% discount. Here in Sun Peaks, Norco, Trek, Rocky Mountain and Specialized brands have been available for a week or so now, ranging from $750 to $2,500. There's a range of downhill, cross country, hardtail and fatty tired bikes.

I hope you are not heading for Saskatchewan and Manitoba as you might be disappointed mountain wise

Some of the big retailers here give 30-50% discount just because they are last years model, never mind an ex rental.

This summer I purchased these bikes locally:
2014 Norco Faze 9.1 Bike - Reviews, Comparisons, Specs - Mountain Bikes - Vital MTB
2013 Trek Fuel EX 9.8 - Reviews, Comparisons, Specs - Mountain Bikes - Vital MTB
They cost $4,500 for the pair (brand new), which is $3k below North American recommended retail prices. many bike stores are selling off stock cheaply at this time of year, current and older models. Ex-rental bikes are generally 15-20% less expensive than something new.
