Has anyone any experience or know the proceedure for importing a motorbike from USA to Canada? We're moving to Canada in Aug 08 and will hopefully be looking at buying a used Harley. We're moving to Nova Scotia but have heard they're a lot cheaper in the states. Any advice or opinions appreciated.

We looked into importing an RV, basically the yanks require you file a permanently exporting notice and advise their POE in advance of exporting.
The Canadians will not allow you to import just any old vehicle it must comply with Canadian standards and will be subject to vehicle inspectorate to ensure compliance. Do a quick web search for Canadian customs to get the latest info, you will have to pay some duty also.

This is a bother so we didn't do it for either of the originally US cars we have here. The earth has not opened and swallowed us.
