As for the vacuum cleaner thing, trying to find one during this stressful time as well as other things we need when I can hardly concentrate on one thing, so it all adds on, the dog pooped in the car yesterday too - he has never done anything remotely like that ever not even as a puppy.

Is this the cleaner you have?

Don't get me wrong, I totally sympathise about your Mum. It was just strange when reading everybodies posts that they were offering condolences at the same time as discussing vacuum cleaners. That's all. My vacuum is this one:

Yeah I suppose it's a bit odd, but it just shows that life goes on even if you don't feel like it for a bit.

I ended up buying a hoover vacuum cleaner from London Drugs, not sure I'm happy with it though:sneaky: At least it sucks stuff up, which is what is required.

Well thank you for an illuminating thread. I had no idea that shag carpet still existed.

It's the 'modern' shag. I just wanted soft floors, after 6 years of living with laminate all through and not a spot of spongeyness for my feet I wanted soft in the bedrooms and the basement, so we went for the softest we could find, oooh it's lovely.
