Same for us two. The Woolwich Arms was fine so there again?

We can firm up an exact date later?

I liked the pub; minimal decor, good beer, but I only go to Guelph on weekdays. There are some posters who live there. I expect they'll be along to the thread.

I liked it too, hard to find if you dont know the area, and turns out there are two Woolwich Arms. Not that I am going this time, sadly. Have fun

Thank you, Happy New Year to you. What are you doing? We have a friend coming round for dinner and movie and at 7pm will see the New Year in via webcam with my mum.

I am educating some Canadian friends about First Footing and other New Years stuff. Am I the only one who is cleaning the house, washing all the clothes and putting clean bed linen on for the New Year???

Party at a friends over in Kitchener tonight but will phone my Mum and others back in the UK at 7pm (or probably closer to 8 as the lines will be chock-a-block).

We put the webcam on during Christmas day and it was good to see folk rather than just hear them.

No, you're not alone in the 'New Year clean'. The OH had us gutting the place yesterday, new bedclothes etc. I always remember my Mum cleaning everything from head to toe in the house to welcome in the New Year.

My tradition is that I open the windows at midnight to welcome in the New Year and let the old one out.

Enjoy the dusting.

I have to dust as well!!?

We open the back door to let the old one out and the front door to let the new one in. Well I do, MOH is a Suffolk man so has no New Year traditions.

I usually show up at our neighbours' with a lump of (char)coal, a bit of bread and a strong hint that a dram would be welcome. They think I'm nuts.

Yup. Never heard of that one. Nor (thanks God) has the Mrs.
