If you hang around long enough, you will find the Canadian forum is like a mini-community and friendship (and arguements) abound.
Have you been in Canada long or are you hoping to move over?

That's because we are a friendly bunch and we notice when regular posters are absent - more so when they just disappear suddenly.

however i do see your point about it being a 'friendly bunch' but it still strikes me that people will comment when others stop posting
i guess that in itself is encouraging

There is a fairly fluid group of regulars who post frequently - when one suddely stops posting, it's noticed. After 3-4 weeks of non contact it may be commented upon - particularly if the 'regular' is a well thought of individual. It's called caring.

a common complaint is the winter
this is puzzling as a canadian winter is far preferable than a british one
in my part of canada winters might be cold, even arctic cold, but i do not miss the dampness of a london winter
so I encourage people to put up with the winter weather here and to stay
