Forgive me if this has been asked before - been trawling thru past threads. My OH wants to know how easy it is to get medical insurance on arrival - his company will pay after 3 months but we need to organise cover ourselves for first 3 months - shall we wait til we arrive - in 3 weeks time? We will need family cover as have 2 children. Any advice?

There are several companies like Blue Cross that do insurance for Canada. There's also canadasure.com who'll cover you from the time you leave the UK, but their web site seems to be down at the moment; also their 'buy online' option is 'under construction' so you have to pay over the phone. I think they're a part of http://www.expatriate-insurance.com/ as that's where they sent emails from.

No idea which ones are more likely to pay up if you need it.
