Anyone else get this abuse?

This is a strategy all girls are taught from an early age by their mums.

They abuse you like this then relent, say they are sorry, apologise, it will never happen again, can you forgive me...etc etc. until you cave-in.

They then look at you appealingly and say...can we have make-up sex?

Happens to me all the time but I'm stalwart...not until I finish my beer and take a shower... I say!...

For those of you that received these insults, I wonder is you also dish them out? I think insults/respect tend to be a two way street.

Being afraid to open my mouth, no, I didn't 'also dish them out'. I also didn't punch him in the face, rip his hair out, sexually assault him or strangle him. It's not always a two way street.

No, obviously not in a genuine abuse situation. And the more one sided insults are, the more it tends towards abuse.

The only time EID has ever shown any propensity to be verbally antagonistic towards me was when we were playing Mario Kart. And in her defence she's really competitive and I was probably being a bit of cad.

The respect certainly goes both ways.

I just ignore the verbals. It's quite annoying, apparently, that I don't rise to the bait.
