When I was over earlier this year I had an Angus burger and found it much better than the burgers they serve in the UK

OMG I can't sleep if I eat one of those things, I had one of the BBQ bacon ones in Great Falls and was up half the night, I like how it had a "nutritional information is available on our website" label on the bottom of the box. In Canada they have to put the information on the box, I nearly had a heart attack when I read it.

Don't ask me why I keep buying food at a place where it always makes me feel ill, I know it's stupid. Strangely I don't have as much of a problem with Burger King.

I occasionally find myself in a predicament where I have to eat crap fast food. Typically it's McDonald's because I like coffee and I really like McDonald's coffee (I'll never understand why everyone drinks that dishwater crap from Tim's).

On one of these excursions, I tried a McRib too (can't believe I'm admitting to this on a public forum). Any idea what the rib was made from? It literally had no taste, just a texture that was not rib-like. While eating it I pictured the sweaty cooks making it by chewing up pieces of old cardboard which they'd spit out and form McRib shapes with their greasy hands.

The sauce had some essence of rib in it. There was a slight pork-effect taste every now and again, however, I'm unsure if my mind was just playing tricks on me.

I was up in Cape Breton last week and hunger happened 100 yards down the road from McDonald's, so I pulled in, saw the sign for McRib and immediately ordered a Tuscan Salad with grilled chicken.

It was actually very tasty. No unwanted after effects, just a surprising feeling that I'd eaten fast food that was delicious, fresh and healthy.

The first warning should be when you order a McRib and there are no ribs in it

There will be some small print somewhere in the establishment that says something like "made from 100% rib (substitute)"

Mmm, I wondered that too. Says pork: http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutri...dientslist.pdf

I only went to the one in Great Falls because I was so tired and it was right by the hotel. I knew I'd regret it later.

My father is the only person I know who has never eaten anything from McDonald's. When the first one opened up near us in the UK we went in there and he bought me a burger (deciding to use me as a guinea pig). They charged the incorrect amount of VAT so he has held a grudge ever since. In fact thinking about it the only fast food restaurant I've ever seen him eat anything from was KFC (under protest) and he was really ill afterward.
