Re: Masks

Sounds like some around here have not flown with 3 year olds, remember some years back been given tickets and upgrades to take No 2 back east and found out why.

On the way back we had access to Mothers Little Helper and she slept all the way.

anti-mask protest in Vancouver, actually pretty good size protest, on a very smoke filled day as well.

One sign a protester is holding says: I'D RATHER BURY MY FAMILY FROM COVID THAN SEE THEM ENSLAVED TO THE FEAR OF IT

As long as it takes. It's a snack not a flippin' 5 course gourmet meal and posh conversation.

How many people are doing this at same time?
As long as they're not sneezing or coughing their droplets, food and drink over me from 6 rows away what difference does it make?

Lets say you were sat in row of 3 and you didn't know the other two and they both lowered masks to eat/drink just for a few minutes would that be an acceptable risk to you?
Since that would be normal behaviour and I'd be doing the same thing, yes. The other 90% of the time is more important.

Re: Masks

Couple of things in the news that I do not understand, now I live in a town of 20 so a lot of this feels very remote.

In San Fran they closed all the Gyms, but the ones on the Government buildings are now open, so why the difference?

Flying they are very insistent on keeping you 6ft, in the Airport on the Jet Way and then when you are on the plane there is no distancing. I would have thought being stuck in a very confined tube was when making sure you are 6ft apart is most important.

It's not really. The best defense against the virus is maintaining 2m distance from other people. Where this is not possible then a mask may provide protection but it's not guaranteed. While the air filtration system on aircraft may protect people from being infected by someone who is more than 2m away, if you sit beside someone who is infected, you are very likely to be exposed.

Down in Florida a 24 year-old is in jail for beating shit out of a senior citizen who asked him to back up.

Yet Bristoluk seems adamant that he would feel totally safe sat next to someone he didn't know whilst mask less even if it was only a few minutes whilst eating/drinking.

Re: Masks

OK why 2m? 6ft in the US.

I do not vape but know others that do and seems to spread a lot more than 6ft or 2m.

Spent part of last week in Fernie (BC) and was surprised that the servers were not masked up and very very few people were wearing masks. We keep seeing more and more masked up people in Red Deer, but they are no where near sanitizing as much.

Let me just correct that for you. I'll use the words that we both used for the sake of accuracy.
You asked - "Lets say you were sat in row of 3 and you didn't know the other two and they both lowered masks to eat/drink just for a few minutes would that be an acceptable risk to you?!
And I replied - "Since that would be normal behaviour and I'd be doing the same thing, yes. The other 90% of the time is more important."

So 2m is the distance with a mask so what is the distance without a mask?
