It was just over 14 years ago and we were due to pay what would have been Phil's first trip out to Canada - absolutely skint broke etc as flight payment due the following day - and my girlies were going out on a big P#$% up that Friday night.
So sulking got in the bath and plotted I was gonna force his hand.
Gets out of the bath wraps a towel around and and bursts through the lounge door saying "right you !!!'
There on the mantelpiece was a bottle of champagne and a little card which when I read it simply said
Marry me
Aww bless him
Gay

ps - we have been married 14 years tomorrow

We had gone on our first holiday abroad together to Zante in August 1995, which just happened to be over my birthday.
On the day of my birthday we were woken up by thunder and lightening and pouring rain. I was not impressed so refused to get out of bed. OH got up to make brekky and get my cards and pressies.
When I got to his pressie, it was quite a large box which was filled inside with all other boxes etc, then when I got down to the last box he went down on one knee by the side of the bed and asked me to marry him. It was totally unexpected; and after that the sun came out and it was a glorious day. How romantic is that?
Been married 12 years now (although it seems like 25!).

We got engaged on Christmas day 1999, my OH came over to my flat with a huge box.. I opened it and there were 3 packages all wrapped seperatly. I opened the first one... A box of crystal champagne flutes, the second one was a bottle of pink champagne and the 3rd one was a diamond ring.... I wa gob smacked as I had no idea, but I didn't get a proposal until 5am the next day though......

We were approaching our 1st anniversary of being together and so i decided i would ask Geraint to marry me ( both divorces were through so nothing stopping us now i thought
). I planned a nice evening and unknown to me Geraint had also done the same.
It turned out that we both spent the evening trying to pluck up the courage to propose to eachother
In the end Geraint plucked up the courage first and we have just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary ...
Friday 13th was and always will be a very special day for us

I came to Montreal on holiday,2 days before I was set to leave a friend said lets go to a strip joint, not that interested but bored I said ok.
As luck would have it the place was closed so we went to a club,a woman came up to me and in French asked me to dance which I said "do what ?"
I stayed and 2 months later she asked me to marry her..
We just had our 20th anniversary so it's still working out fine here in Montreal.
