Default Maple Syrup

Hello BEs

What is your favourite maple syrup and where do you get it from? I am looking for something that is good but is also easily available (not the sugary Aunt Jemima type of stuff of course).

All grocery stores sell some form of Maple syrup. We buy either Grade A or #1 for home use

I can't stand the horrible sickly muck but HID baths in naffing stuff. She swears by the Costco brand.

Here's the new Canadian grading system. Don't buy American! As we are in rural Ontario we just drive to the sugar bush and buy a litre or two.

On my pancakes/waffles my preference is the Aunt Jemima or store brand flavoured (corn syrup/caramel/fructose)

Once in a while, 'all that's bad for you in small quantities'

Yes, just why? You live just over an hour from where it's gathered and made too. A Sunday morning drive out to eat a pancake breakfast and to buy the real thing would be a lovely outing.

Life is too short to eat Aunt Jemima and 'table syrup'. Embrace your adopted Canadian identity.

In 2012, we were at a B and B on the west coast of Ireland. The owners had family members living in Vermont who got them hooked on the taste of real maple syrup. We were quite pleasantly surprised when the pancakes available for breakfast came with some 'real' maple syrup from Quebec...at a large cost I'm sure.

OK you lot, I'll fess up

Our Daughter recently brought us a small 250ml glass container from the 'Wheeler family Farms' Organic Maple Syrup' & TBH, I just couldn't take to it, maybe because of decades of the 'vile stuff'

Wheelers is the place our family tries to go to each year. We usually buy 8 litres/year of their maple syrup.
