Are many of you under the weather?

I only ask as today I have phoned two places in NB and spoke to one woman who was the only one in out of 12 employees and then straight after to another who was the only one of 9 who had pitched up. Spoke to the pharmacist today and she says half of Fredericton has succumbed. She even gave me prescription only drugs!

I missed BE for two weeks as I was in the grips of the same....not flu, but a virus with cold and fever and a cough that is quite unshakable...it feels like the hangover from hell...without the fun bit first!

Is this prevailing amongst the rest of you or is it just an Eastern speciality?

I will inevitably get a cold in the next two weeks.
It is the combination of germ breeding children arriving back at school, my busiest time of year and airline travel.

Yes, weird, I had a cold earlier this week but I'm fine now, and I'm all the way in BC.

I was a mess. I hate how whiney I get with a cold.

Third week of school and one of germ breeding kids has a cold, so I predict it's about to spread around the house (probably literally)

I have this. Half of the department has this. Meetings sound like a cancer ward and must be quite unpleasant for those conferencing in.

Isn't north america foot and mouth free?
Hence the hysteria on travellers from the UK during the outbreak?

Non-Polio Enterovirus Infection: Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) - CDC

This has been going around most states and now in Canada, mostly affecting kids though.

I haven't really been sick, but I have been very fatigued, dry cough, and achy for the last few days, kind of like I am getting sick, but not really quite sick yet, its a weird feeling.

I had a similar bug to that - the cough lasted 3-4 weeks before it finally went but that was probably due to me being a smoker too; others who got it the cough lasted around 2 weeks. I don't take medications unless I am really sickly so just used hot lemon drinks, the odd advil and that was about it.

Thankfully now completely over it.

Hope you feel better soon!
