I agree with the first part - I am often too tired to really enjoy my evening meal and don't really like to eat late, but I often come home late and then by the time it is prepared it is really late. I do it out of habit so that OH has a meal.
Last few weeks since OH has been in Canada I have hardly ever made food in the evening - I just don't feel hungry and since there's only me....
Sadly, if I am working, I often don't get to eat lunch at all (not even a banana in a bap!), so having time for a lovely lunch on a day I am not working is a super luxury. It's so nice to have time to eat it slowly and taste it!

I had a cheese and pickle sandwich yesterday.

Wow, fancy stuff ;)

My usual "pleb" meal is butter and herb instant mash potato. You can get two packs for about $1.60, so it works out as a quick and very filling lunch for 80c :)

Not sure about a banana sandwich but I like a hot lunch. I used call it dinner but here that just confuses people so now it's lunch. Of course old people here call dinner, supper.

At least that isn't as bad as how confused people here became when I kept referring to my evening meal as "tea". I have to call it dinner now :(

It's all I had in. Now I work from home most days I've got to get used to having proper food in the house for lunches. Although tomorrow I'm going to have fish finger sandwiches which I'm quite looking forward to.

I know what you mean. A few years ago I asked a girl out on a date by asking her, whether she'd want to have her tea around my place. She seemed really confused until I explained that I was going to get a take-away and a DVD.

I love fish finger sandwiches, especially with a fried egg on top too. And brown sauce. Yum!

I bring my breakfast and lunch into work everyday, but it's usually all gone by 9am. :(

my pleb meal today is those cheapy noodles that you can buy 5 packs for $1.20, and then make noodle sandwhiches.

I miss pot noodle sarnies.
