Lost Dog, North Van trails ....
I just came across this and thought I'd pass it on for the wider audience, though if you live in the area you likely already know....
We are courtesy posting for the owners whom we do not know. The dog walker/daycare lost the dog yesturday.
Lost Dog ~ NORTH VANCOUVER!
Bernese Mountain Dog - 2 Years Old - Name: Hurley
Lost at 2:15 Mar 24/11 on Baden Powell Near the Entrance to the Dream Weaver Trail.
Hurely has been hiking all this week the Baden Powell from Dempsey to Prospect and
the Power Line trail from Prospect to St. Maryʼs
If you have any information or think you have seen him please call (604) 862-2056
He has tags with his name on it and a home phone number.
REWARD $1000

I watched that on the news and followed Bring Hurley Home on FB, you gotta love a happy ending...

Re the family paying, that's good, but don't emergency services but this type of rescue down as training and public relations??

North Shore Search and Rescue is an entirely voluntary organization funded by public donations. Good for them that they took the time to rescue a dog, and good for the owner to pay for it.
