Long weekend.
Anyone have exciting plans?
I am working all weekend so not overly exciting here, my other half is going to the interior with some friends from a theater group she belongs to.

Re: Long weekend.
We started today with a walk on a beach, then had coffee in a junk shop, oh we had to cross the road which was filled with diverted truck trailers from the 401. That was exciting. Went to the local hostelry for a cheese and charcuterie board and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Now we're home and eating magnum ice cream

No plans other than to enjoy the fabulous weather. On Sunday night we will have ring side seats to watch the Canada Day fireworks on the lake.

Re: Long weekend.
We have not been gifted nice weather for the weekend. Rainy today, and tomorrow, with mixed sun/clouds some rain on Sunday possible. But it certainly is better then a heat wave...

Re: Long weekend.
It's going to be stonking hot here - in the 40c's with humidity... I won't be going anywhere, can't with the heat advisory, so will maybe venture out into the back garden for 10 mins here and there and enjoy the sunshine and blue sky and maybe half a glass of de-alcoholized wine as a treat. I'll be working off and on over the weekend anyway, but only a few hours then back to my new normal on Monday.
Have a wonderful one, what ever you do!

I'll be trying to fit in so I'll spend the weekend being passive aggressive and naffing a moose.

Fitted an SSD into my previous laptop to see how much better it performs. It does.

Re: Long weekend.
We started early today with a trip to Cobourg beach, a dufferent one to yesterday's, and had a pledge in the watter. Walking on the sand has annoyed my gammy knee so I'll be spending the rest of today resting it.
The heat continues. I was woken last night by thunder and lightning and considering that I'm deaf and hear hardly anything without my gadgets it was friking loud. One branch came off our tree too. That was exciting,

Unbelievably the main firework event on the Harbourfront has been moved to Monday night at 10.30. Very convenient for those working the following morning.

Yikes! Where did you see that JG? It's showing tonight on Global - that's a bit concerning for anyone who doesn't know! That's going to be brutal for anyone who has booked a Canada Day Fireworks cruise!

Within the city itself, skies will light up at several different locations on the night of July 1.
The fireworks kick off at 10 p.m. at Ashbridges Bay along Toronto’s waterfront, and 10:30 p.m. at Mel Lastman Square in North York.
There are also displays at the Amesbury Park Canada Day Celebration, at Centennial Park, which is hosting Toronto Ribfest, at Milliken Park in Scarborough, at the East York Canada Day Festival at Stan Wadlow Park, and at Weston Lions Park.
Downsview Park’s Canada Day Celebration promises a “spectacular” fireworks show.

There are plenty of sites listing the venues of the firework displays tonight. Non list the Harbourfront.
The Harbourfront is concentrating on a music festival this weekend...finishing with fireworks late tomorrow night.
“There’ll be public celebrations all over the country this weekend, but in downtown Toronto anyway, the most extensive are the Harbourfront Centre Canada Day Celebrations. Kicking off Friday and running right through to the fireworks display on Monday night, there’ll be live music—including performances from the finalists in its Soundclash Music Award Showcase—and a hip hop showcase by Maoestro Fresh Wes; a daily market; and plenty of programming for kids and adults of all ages.”

I hope I’m wrong.

Re: Long weekend.
Every Canada Day weekend in the hood we get to play the guessing game Firework or Gunshot? There were a couple of loud ones around 10:15 but spaced a few minutes apart so I guessed firework, and I see nothing in the news this morning.
