I think this may be age related....I just googled it and.....50cm spag, was the norm until the latter part of the 20th c when 25 to 30 cm spag started to gain popularity. Therefore quite a few of us 'more experienced' BE ers on here really can remember when you could have a weeks holiday for ten bob and when you could slurp your way through half a metre of spaghetti! Oh the good old days

I had a bolognese for tea. It was lovely, but it would have been nice to have some of that long spaghetti that's readily available back home. I know it's the same really but it's quite satisfying coiling it into the pan as it cooks.
Has anyone seen it here? (preferably a normal shop - not somewhere annoying hipsters go to on commercial drive)

What an incredibly ignorant remark. You want a specific type of Italian pasta yet refuse even consider Commercial, which is essentially Little Italy? Good luck with that.

I have no idea what Commercial Drive is like but googling I see a website called The Drive and I can maybe see where a comment on annoying hipsters comes from.

I dislike hipsters as much as the next guy, but to me they are more of a downtown phenomenon, I swear every guy down there has to wear one of those stupid thin scarfs.
But Commercial is really not that hipster, in fact it's mainly an older crowd in my experience, a lot of Europeans who immigrated to Vancouver in the 70s. In fact I'd say it's an exceptionally grounded place by Vancouver standards, the food and groceries are often very reasonably priced, doesn't have that slightly snooty-vibe you get at Granville Island for example.
BTW, I find it pretty damn ironic that after I accuse someone of being ignorant, someone else chimes in making a judgement based on a Google Search.
In any case, to write off Commercial Drive for fear of seeing a hipster seems incredibly dumb, I personally really like it, it's a refreshing change from many of the samey stripmalls you get in the suburbs. I also had one of the nicest pizzas I've ever had in Canada there, as well as a great Indian curry. There are stores there that you will be almost guaranteed to find the long pasta you're after, and probably for a decent price too, much cheaper than Bosa that's for sure.

No long spaghetti by Barilla here even though it's one of the most stocked brands of pasta in nearly every supermarket.
None on their Italian website either.

Spaghetti Lunghi is a 50 cm long pasta delight.
I suppose it's down to the individual supermarket whether they stock it or not - you could try asking if they will.
