Default London's student protest

Sitting in my office near St Pauls in London. Today is the day of the student protest march from Tottenham Court Road to Liverpool Street Station via St Pauls. Police (riot and regular) have surrounded our building and the London Stock Exchange next door. Their riot gear is stacked against the BT building and everyone is... waiting... A policeman just came into our lobby to say they expect them to arrive in 20 minutes. The amount of tax payers' £££ being spent on this must be incredible. But I suppose it turned nasty last time and with the summer riots I guess they have to be prepared.

Just thought I'd share a little of the London action with all of you.

The riot gear is on and we now can’t leave the office on police orders.

They’re here... And here come the helicopters!

I expect they're flying in Tariq Ali for the keynote podium address.

Ridiculous. Were they this prepared for the riots last summer?

Students = easy targets as far as the OB is concerned. Has always been the way...

Sounds like an xtreme version of the Penn State students riot with regards to the firing of Paterno
