Licence required for possesing firearm
#1
Girlfriends dad has asked us to bring his hunting rifle (non restricted) back from Saskatchewan to Alberta.
I am under the impression one of us would require a PAL or POL in order to do this.
Anybody with any experience on this?

You risk penalties if a peace officer finds you in possession of a firearm without a valid licence.

all related, so to speak ....

OP, this may be a dumb question 'why doesn't the old man do it himself' - why would you personally take the responsibility & risk, as well as 'why wouldn't his daughter do it on her own without your involvement'??
Could it not be shipped via another means
Maybe there is more to this than meets the eye?

As long as she takes the rap if you get caught and dad's willing to pay the fine go for it.

I said we weren't taking it, he said he wasn't aware of the licence requirement for a nonrestricted firearm. All good in the end.
not2old he didn't want to drive for 7 hours in winter road conditions to get it, he thought this would be easier, I told him it wasn't.
