Default Leaked BNP members list.

Have been following the story on and off all day and got a peek at the list earlier on.

Just been casually browsing through some of the names on there and was shocked to see several members are in Canada!!!

Surely it highlights the stupidity of these people to support a movement that advocates bans on immigration. I wonder how they feel about Canada's immigration policies?

Not all members and affiliates of a political party necessarily subscribe to all of their policies. For instance there are supporters of the Labour Party who were dead set against the war in Iraq. Just because they are a member doesn't mean they necessarily agree with their more extremist policies.

Granted. But we're talking here about the BNP, their mainstream policies entail setting fire to people of other races, disagreement with their more extremist policies suggests only that members don't eat the corpses.

I think if you join the BNP you have a pretty good idea what their policies and agenda are and would subscribe to them. Otherwise why not just join the Conservative Party?

Do the BNP have less extreme policies?

Damn, the list has been removed and I wanted to check a couple of names.

I think membership is more common than we realise, and I would guess that a few people who post on here would sympathise with BNP policies. They don't see the irony of immigrating to get away from immigrants. Probably because they have a perverse idea of white supremacy, and also see Canada as a white country, a cosy outpost of the Empire, but without the "fuzzywuzzies".

According the Wikipedia entry on the BNP, these are some of their current policies which I will try to verify elsewhere. My views on each of these.

The BNP proposes to reintroduce corporal punishment. Unsure whether this would be a deterrent.

Capital punishment will be available for paedophiles, terrorists and murderers. Also worth consideration for more than 1 offence, after due process in a court of law

In addition to increasing military defence spending, the BNP plans to reintroduce compulsory national service. The BNP proposes that citizens should be licensed to keep a rifle and ammunition in their homes. Is a burglar likely to break into a home if he thinks he's likely to get shot.

The BNP proposes "to end the conflict in Ireland by welcoming Eire as well as Ulster as equal partners in a federation of the nations of the British Isles". Would they want to?

I don't consider myself a BNP supporter though I might support one of the above policies.

Cults, some religions and terrorist organisations recruit members by getting them to agree with some of their less-extreme ideas before some of the leadership indoctrinate them deeper into the more radical policies. The BNP is probably no different in that respect.

Hi

This could become a major thread.
All political parties have a couple of policies that you think "yeah, I could probably go with that"

The BNP however have a highly volatile ideology. They also change these policies to suit the climate. They want all non British deported and this includes people that were born here. My OH is 3rd generation Indian and that includes him.

I am sorry but they preach hate.

If they are as harmless as they would like us to believe then why are most people afraid of them getting any power. I am talking British people here.

And we're talking fully paid-up membership... i.e. not just sympathy with one or other of their PR-spun viewpoints.

Don't you think this is significant when you consider that some are in professions (teaching, medicine, the police etc.) where every human being (regardless of colour, migratory pattern etc.) has a reasonable right to expect fair treatment.

I find it hard to believe that anyone of even below-average intelligence could possibly think it advantageous in the 21st Century to join and finance a 'political party' founded on ignorance, fear and hatred (um... which rules out all political parties really).

Oh dear.

But on the list and its publication...

BNP members are hateful, dangerous and predominantly very dim people, but even hateful, dangerous dim people have a right to personal data protection.

Agreed. It's also particularly unfair to include the names of pre-voting age children of BNP members on the list.

Having looked at the list, I'm gobsmacked at the stupidity of people who work for organisations that specifically disallow staff from holding BNP membership in becoming fully paid up members - and then trusting that notes such as 'No 'promotional material' requested. Concerned about his job' and 'Discretion required re. employment concerns. Police officer' will stop it from one day becoming public knowledge.

I can't find it. Could you suggest a search term?
