Default Kobo Touch

I know we had a discussion about e readers a little while ago. I eventually purchased a Kobo Touch. Recently they have been putting upgrades on when I go to sync my reader. Has anyone else experienced trouble when the upgrades have been put on. I think after the first upgrade there were a lot of problems and they removed the upgrade. This morning, however, another upgrade was put on and now every time I turn a page it reverts to the library. Getting a bit fed up with the problems!

I think there's a tech section in the lounge section of the forum - maybe post there, you might get a better response?

I noticed something on the Kobo website about issues with upgrades - it recommended a fix, I haven't tried it because mine is working fine and I am worried that if I 'fix' it, it may not do.

I plugged mine in last week for adding new books and had problems with that upgrade and had to reinstall the Kobo desktop, haven't plugged it in since (might leave it a little while now).

I've lost mine, it's in the house somewhere I know.

Unfortunately when you sync your Kobo you do not get the option to skip the update, it does it first.

The on line support has been fairly good and the latest up date seems to be working ok. I do have a problem though when I install the micro card on which I have some books someone sent me, they tend to go back to the home page everytime I turn the page! Perhaps I should just buy them and solve that problem LOL

I reinstalled the Kobo desktop and still had problems with one particular book. They did reinstall the book for me and the problem on that one seems to have been solved.

Wait for the Kindle fire 2 for a 10" tablet or get the Google Nexus 7

Sound advice. You already have a kobo touch? You don't like the latest software update? Chuck it out and buy a new $250 tablet!

$250....which hole did you pull that from? You don't have to chuck teh device, you can flog it of kijiji, ebay or the likes

Kobo released v2.0.0 of it's firmware for the Touch recently. There have been a few issues with it, and I believe most have now been resolved.

If you are still having issues, send an email to: [email protected]
You will certainly deal with a very knowledgeable team who'll go out of their way to address your issue. If they don't know the answer, they'll go straight to the development / QA's on the team responsible for the product / app / device (If it's an iOS Kobo issue you could always ask me )
