There is a new woman in my agility class who knows it all!! I have been taking classes from this particular instructor for years and years and I know him. Pretty soon he is going to ask her who is teaching the class - him or her!

There is another woman with a silky terrier, and Mrs Know It All says "Oh don't worry if she can't go over the a-frame - just do the things she can do."

Excuse me -- are you the instructor?

Then she starts on about pet shops. I had mentioned the fact that Petcetera has a groomer who does an excellent job and loves the dogs. I said I wouldn't go to Petland because I won't deal with a pet store that sells puppies, especially unregistrable "purebred" dogs for $1,300 each! So she says "Oh that is Petcetera." Well that ticked me off because as I said, I would not deal with a store that sold puppies. So I said "No, that is PetLAND not PetCETERA". But she knows it all. She kept on insisting - That is Petcetera, on the east end. SHUT UP you stupid woman. There is one PetCETERA in Regina and its on Albert Street!!!

No - I didn't say that. I figured if she was so insistent on being wrong, I would let her. Why can't I think of a good come back in those situations??!!

I changed my name because I wanted something less distinctive. Its been changed for ages. I have the same avatar as I had before and someone else commented so it wasn't a secret.

And I guess I didn't explain myself very well. I was mostly annoyed because this is how false rumours start. Petcetera do good work with the Humane Society. They take animals that have ended up in the shelter and they find homes for them. I didn't want this woman going around telling people that they sell "puppy mill" puppies.

So far as I know, they are on the car but he hardly uses the car!! He is a bit of a car nut. They have the Scirocco, they also have an antique Chevy Camaro convertible, that his wife's father bought from new and then paid a fortune to restore some years ago - and they hardly use either. They have a new Audi and a Infiniti sedan!! They are expecting a baby in September, maybe they are keeping the other two cars for the child when he/she grows up!!!!

Maybe he is going to start a car museum!!

Well, like I said, if you aren't interested in dogs, then you probably wouldn't care about puppy mills and the awful situations that these puppies grow up in. So you wouldn't probably care that someone was giving Petcetera a bad name when they do really good work with the Humane Society and refuse to sell dogs for exorbitant prices. And I mean exorbitant prices. At Petland its nothing to see an unregistrable dog from a dubious background being sold for $1,400.

That was my point. Don't go around spreading stories that aren't true. Get your facts right before you open your mouth.

I do care - a great deal......as an animal-loving vegetarian of many years (and activist in my own small way) I am appalled at the cruelty that goes on the world. My daughter worked for a hsort time at what was called PetCity in England, and came across the most horrendous cases of neglect...........all the pubkic sees are cute little furry animals; they don't see what goes on behind the scenes. :curse:
