Default just when you think things might be tolerable

Flederman was laid off today.

No jobs locally. My job is part time with no minimum amount of work. No benefits, no sick pay so the op I was going to have will be postponed indefinitely until a job comes up.

I'm tired and fed up and want to go home but we can't afford it. Lord knows what possessed us to give up decent jobs to come here. Mistake, big mistake.

Sorry to hear about that.
Do you lose your medical coverage though? Isn't there just a little amount you have to pay a month to keep it?

I guess the problem is lack of income whilst she is laid up, even if the op is free.

Oh yeah, think I've read too much of that other post and caught with it.

hi all. Thanks for the support and thoughts.

The benefits are with Fman's job. I am part time so no benefits and no sick pay. I can have the op but will lose pay when I am off. EI is roughly half your usual income and so this would make paying bills problematic. Maybe it won't come to that and Fman will find a job; he will be looking on Monday and may find something as a security guard. There is nothing advertised but at least now we know some of the places to look for work.

Tis a life of lentils and no gin for a while.

Sorry to hear of your decline in circumstances.

Quick question: Does Mr F. have an Ontario Security Licence. If not, he'll need to look here. Good luck to you both.
