Default Just wanted to share this...

So I'm usually in a state of slight homesickness which means I probably spend a bit too much time unfairly berating Canada and Canadians, but I had a brief moment this morning that made me glad to be here.
Since it is ridiculously hot here in our part of Ontario at the moment, I've taken to walking the dog before I go to work in the mornings. So, sometime before 6am today, I trudged up the hill near my house and through the beautiful tree-covered stretch of the Bruce Trail that leads to the Chedoke golf course. The golf course is high up on a hill overlooking the city and when I emerged from the trees, the view was beautiful. The rising sun had turned all the buildings in our little city a beautiful rose colour and the hazy Toronto skyline was visible across the lake in the distance. I sat with the dog for a few minutes to enjoy the view and got lots of 'hellos' and 'good mornings' from the other walkers and joggers who were out. The hawks were drifting along overhead across the escarpment and the chipmunks were running around all over the place (probably dodging the hawks). I walk this route every day and I'm normally plugged into an ipod and marching along head down, but I'm glad I slowed down for a few minutes to take a proper look, it was a lovely start to the day.
OK, sappy moment over
