Remember that ovens are in Fahrenheit here not Celsius, so maybe thats why? ;) That is unless you're lucky enough to have a digital one which you can switch over. I did that at my last Apartment, the Girlfriend won't let me switch over the one at our new place though :(

But I can't help but notice that EVERYTHING takes longer in Canada, lol.

I know that if your running round doing errands that takes longer because you have to drive everywhere, everywhere is further apart and you end up chatting to people more along your way. Shopping takes longer because the supermarkets are enormous.

All that I understand but...potatoes(!?)...they seem to take waaaaay longer to roast, boil and bake here. And eggs - they seem to take a few more minutes to boil. My kettle - that too seems to take longer than in the UK. Has anyone else noticed this or am I going a bit nuts?

The water takes longer due to high amounts of Chlorine added, if you are in a hurry use bottled water to boil.

Oh I'll need to get myself one of those so I don't have to check the converter on my phone all the bloody time, lol

But water boils at a lower temperature the higher you go, so it should take less time. ;)

Maybe it's because the water here is of the 60 cycle variety and the UK is 50 cycle. :)
