Sent off applications for 6. Don't hear anything for 4 weeks, then get 3 'can you come in for an interview tomorrow' with in the space of a couple of days. Get offered all 3 in the same day. Decline 2, and get offered better jobs by both of them, and I accepted the 3rd - QA Manager at software development company 2 miles from our apartment, and start 1st August WOOOHOOOO!
(though it will be a shock to the system after all this skiving

Well done SkiBunny
Obviously your natural charm and charisma won the day
Will you walk/cycle/drive to work? Victoria seemed to be very cycle friendly from what we could see. It should be a pretty short trip anyway!

Brilliant news!!! Had to tell OH that this is the way it tends to work. He keeps thinking in British mode. 'Why wasn't it done yesterday??' Or something along those lines

It's annoying how it seems to take the companies sooooo long to get in touch, but at least they do get round to it in the end!!
For anyone else looking for a job now or shortly, I followed the tips on the BE Wiki about my resume and also about following up after the interviews with an 'it was so great meeting you I really would love to work with you' email. Also following advice on here, I tried to be a lot chirpier and big up myself more than feels acceptable to a self-effacing Brit. Obviously works!
