The view from the front of our house back towards the road - the drive is to the left and VERY steep
We are 120 metres above sea level - evidentally we can get a lot more snow than at sea level on the coast
We were going to look at 4x4 SUV's today - I think we have left it a bit late:curse:
It's now 17cm and the forecast is for up to 40cm and it's going to be 13 degrees on Tuesday

We won't be going anywhere till we can get out

We managed to get up our drive early today (only 2-3cm) and ventured to the shops.
The roads were OK then but as we drove further inland (7 miles) it was snowing more and the roads were pretty bad.
Coming back down our drive was very dodgy - thought we would slide straight into the house
We have a roaring fire, plenty of food and drink and are enjoying the view out of the window

Just had to do a trip to Duncan and back, normally takes about 15 minutes either way. Just took us about 1 1/2 and the highway Southwards is blocked so had to come back the country roads through Cowichan Bay. Wouldn't have done it but had to pick our truck up which has just had a service and is our 4x4 vehicle and will probably come in handy the next couple of days.
Our son is playing Basketball in Vancouver and is due back tonight but we have arranged that if it keeps snowing he will have to stay round one of his team mates in Duncan until the roads are clearer to drive back in.
