Default Its all about the cheese.

Allegedly there have been several threads where cheese and the price of such said item has been discussed. I think that this story emphasises the lengths some people will go to.
Im sure Alan2005 if he reads the story will have something to sink his teeth into

I had to check the date of that article and make sure it wasn't posted on the 1st of April. So, how much IS cheese in Canada? Because if it's prohibitively expensive, I'm going to have seriously reconsider relocating. I frigging LOVE cheese.

Not only is it expensive, its pretty awful. For instance, Asiago - the first syllable gives it away.

My sister just brought loads of Cornish Cruncher from London. It a little slice of moldy heaven! Its almost done as well

How much can you afford If I want it I buy it regardless of the cost. The article tends to suggest that cheese in the US is a third of the Canadian price.
I will check the job postings at work later today to see if there are any secondments to CBSA in the Niagara region. Perhaps CBSA are going to set up a cheese smuggling task force. We will ask for more VACIS X Ray machines or scanners to combat this horrendous crime.
We will be there to protect the Dairy Farmers of Canada and cheese manufacturers and the businesses that sell cheese.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.

It reminds me of this

http://www.globaltvbc.com/expensive+...108/story.html

Cheese is consistently in the top three items targeted by shoplifters, according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Const. Anne Longley.

"Cheese, meat and razor blades," she said.

We pay $11/lb for high quality cheddar, $10 for 250g of Camembert. Cheese was noticeably more expensive in BC.

While it might be expensive, lacking in variety and poor quality its meant to be very friendly cheese.

Perhaps on your next fishing trip you could stop off and anchor up in US waters. Buy a shit load of cheese and stuff it inside all the fish you have caught to avoid detection or wrap it carefully in water tight containers and affix them to the bottom of your boat. You then wait till dark and come back to the boat dressed in your camo gear and retrieve the cheese.

I don't like cheese very much and only eat a small wedge of Stilton after Christmas with my left over turkey so its hardly worth the effort.

Cheese in the UK and USA is government subsidised. Canada is just priced by the market rate. Smaller independent delis are the best place to go if you want quality cheese, often at cheaper prices too.

I was in Costco over the weekend and noticed what looked like "passable" cheese.

There was even one with jalapinos in it that looked good.

Canadian superstore do a nice goats cheese with cranberry
