Issues with Shady Contractors and their Miserable Lawyer

Okay, so the Shady Contractors (or SC as they shall now be known) informed me a week or so ago that they are removing the lien from our property and that their Miserable Lawyer (or ML as they shall now be known) would be calling me/writing to me to let me know this and would be sending a letter for us to sign (or something).
So I have contacted the SC this week to chase them up as I have heard nothing, only to get the response of "Well I guess the ML is a very busy lady". Hmm.
So I call the ML and her assistant knows nothing about the lien being removed and is going to check the file and call me back. I have now chased her 3 times and nada.
So - what do I do to move this forward and get it sorted
A - call the ML every 30 mins until they deal with it;
B - Stage a sit in at the ML's office until they sort it;
C - go to the SC office to make her call them and tell them to do it - whilst I watch over her; or
D - pull my hair out?

Useful info and contacts...which you likely have:

A quick chat with the lawyer you usually use may be worthwhile...and a few bucks for a letter if the SC/ML have not played by the rules....
Best of luck...

Lawyers in Canada take forever to do anything. They complain that they are too busy but, it would appear, are never too busy to be able to take 30 mins coffee breaks or 2 hour lunches. I cannot imagine any of them being able to survive in the legal environment of the UK (and, yes, I appreciate that they don't have to!)

Keep calling ML. It will piss her off and she will obtain instructions and, as an added benefit, SC get to pay for all the calls you make to ML.

I spoke with her assistant this morning - who spoke with ML. ML tried to explain what needs to happen to Assistant but it was too complicated as I do not have legal counsel? So ML will call me. That was about an hour ago...
I will call her this afternoon and then ever couple of hours tomorrow - annoyance is obviously the way forward and I like the idea of SC having to pay for my calls to ML!

I don't know what it is that they want you to sign. Probably some form of release releasing them from all liability linked to this particular issue. Watch out, lawyers love to draft these very widely so that, for example, they may try to prevent you from ever being able to sue them for anything. This would then prevent you from suing them if, for example, you were involved in a road traffic accident with one of their employees (meaning you would not be able to sue them for damages for personal injuries or damage to property).

The removal of the lien would be a very simple process in Alberta. It simply requires the registration of a document from the person that registered the lien, in essence, stating it is no longer required. It would not need a lawyer to do so (unless the lawyer had registered the lien and, even then, the lienholder could still register it). Me thinks SC is dragging their heels.

Hmm I wonder who I could ask to cast their eye over any letter I receive? Hmm. Someone REALLY helpful and wonderful and I assume quite handsome as well???

I am expecting them to try and draft something that means we cannot go after PDS regarding any problems that arise and are currently covered by their two year warranty.

If you would like it reviewed by someone that could not honestly be described as handsome, PDF it to me.

Okay so no call yesterday and today the phone calling begins. Is once every hour too much to start? What about once every 2 hours?

Okay spoke with the moody old cow - she cannot discuss anything with me. WHAT? I asked her to confirm that they were removing the lien and she said yes and I asked her if she could tell me what paperwork I would receive - she said she is not able to discuss this with me!
So I asked her to tell me WHEN I would be received the paperwork and she is not at liberty to tell me that.
God I hate her she is such a BIATCH.
If the paperwork is coming to ME then why can she not discuss anything with ME?
I am assuming this just means she has not done anything. Growl so annoyed now.

ask her on what grounds is she unable to discuss items pertaining to your property with you
