Islamophobia Bill

A Liberal MP has introduced a motion condemning islamophobia (whatever that means - she doesn't specify) and now there's a big commotion about how the motion should be worded. Nobody, however, has asked what this motion is supposed to achieve other than to show how nice the Liberals are to Muslims. How will any motion change people's opinions? I'm not too crazy about spiders but the government passing a bill against arachnophobia won't change that. This is just daft political posturing.

I have a phobia of extreme liberals, perhaps the MP could amend it to include that too.

It's a motion, not a Bill. The Commons passes motions (pun intended) all the time, they are expressions of opinion rather than intentions to legislate

If they wanted to demonstrate the cultural differences between Canada and the US, how about introducing a bill that would cover prescription drugs for all.

Maybe if they hurried up and legalised pot there would be no Islamophobians left ?
