Bizarrely, we used to frequent a Sarsparilla Bar in Cardiff in my student days, circa 1980!

I've lived here for 20+ years and managed to avoid all but a mouthful of Irn Bru, I thought it tasted like American Cream Soda. Root Beer tastes like liquid germolene to me ( not that I've tasted that).

Best thing about Irn Bru is the commerical s, classics

Hey - I'm in that gang too. Possibly the worst tasting beverage I've ever had...apart from Jagermeister (sp).

Whilst in Banff on the weekend i found CANS of Irn Bru - oh i was in heaven! First time i've had it in a can in over 3 years, i loved every minute of it!

Or it was in 1994 when I had some kind of addiction to the bizarre tasting cocktail it creates.

Is it possibly the "Irn" (ferric something or other) that is missing from the Canadian produced version? Last time I looked at the ingredients on a bottle in Zehr's that seemed to be the case.

My OH also thinks it tastes like Germolene...then again she hates Marmite too so what hope is there for her????
