Hi,
OH has an apple iPhone 4 and he is landing on the 12th. I'm looking to insure it (can't put it on home ins as we don't have a place yet) does anybody have any knowledge of Insurance companies in Canada that will just insure this (and eventually macbook too when I land in march?) many thanks brookel x

Even on home insurance (if it is covered at all), it won't be worth a claim if you lose it. The premium hike would more than the payout you get. Small electronics are best written off if you lose them. We put a deductible of $1000 on our policy now, its not worth claiming under and likely not worth it for less than a $5000 loss. Insurance companies are pretty aggressive with claims, and if you make too many they refuse to renew your policy, eventually you could end up without an insurer.
