Just wondering how many of you use Internet Explorer 6?

I would rather you take IE completely off your list cuz hardly anybody uses it anymore when theres much more stable browsers around these days.

I had IE6 installed until a month ago when I had to upgrade my laptop to windows 7 to run an application that didn't work on XP. I mainly use FF, but for certain sites I had to use IE, and IE6 has the advantage that it's quick.
I've tried chrome, but it doesn't have an easy one-click 'open bookmarks in new tab' feature and so is utterly useless to me. I don't know how people put up with it without this.

IE 6...is this a trick question? IE 9 was released March 2011, and 10 is about to drop soon.
Personally I use FF and the occassional Opera on my tablet

Even firefox has got pretty crappy these days since it tried keeping up with Google. Eventually had to switch to Chrome.
Many web sites won't even work properly with old browsers, so upgrading is essentials.
Not sure why this poll was raised though.

I tried to tell them that IE6 is faster cos it doesn't take 10 years to start up, but they weren't having any of it. Started talking about security and such.

I assume the OP is some kind of web person. The nerds in the office complain about people still on IE6 cos they had to design special stuff for them.

If I don't bother it won't make the blog unreadable in IE6, just not as nice looking. Just not sure how much effort I want to put into it at the moment.
BTW, I went to see the IT guys at work to see if there was any chance there was still a PC kicking around running IE6 in case I wanted to test on it. Expecting them to say 'not a chance' they said 80% of the desktop machines are still running that version

I tried Chrome when it first came out and wasn't too impressed, but more and more people are giving it praise so I may try again.
There was a news article today (or maybe yesterday) that it was now the second most popular browser in the UK (overtaking firefox).

I just bought a new laptop with Explorer 9 but it kept on freezing, especially on Facebook. So I researched briefly online and downloaded Google Chrome and have had no problems whatsoever

Chrome all the way here too (on kid's XP box, my Vista laptop and Win7 "entertainment system" that I'm writing this message on right now). Even OH has installed it on her Mac thing.
Why? Chrome just works, if I fire up IE on any of the windows boxes it'll take at least twice as long to load. Chrome automatically updates too, with IE there's those weekly mystery patches which often come with the surprise chance that the internet will cease to function until they're uninstalled. Chrome does on-the-fly spell checking too, right now it has underlined the word "uninstalled", the git.
