Hi all
We emigrated on the 31st Jan 08 and are having a great time settling in, we are on the Sunshine Coast, BC. My husband is a fully qualified Sparky in the UK and has also passed an inspection and testing course in England. Now that we are here, does anyone know if he will have to just sit an exam or complete all the training. Some people advised him that he may have to go to Vancouver for 6 weeks, unpaid and unfunded to do the training. He has started work as an approver/apprentice to learn all he needs to in preperation for the exams. Anyone that has been through anything similar that can share their experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks

Congrats on landing in BC
I think that you should do a forum search on Electricans or Red Seal as most of our UK trades men have to requalify under this examination. The threads in these threads that come up should give you enough info on what you need to know.
Most of the guys covered in construction have to join as journeymen and work towards an exam
