Unhappy Inevitable British Airways Strike

I have a flight booked home to see the family for December 23rd to January 3rd. I found out that BA are potentially planning a strike for these dates and the outrageous amount of money I spent on getting a direct flight at very precise dates and times may have been completely pointless. This is pretty upsetting as I haven't seen the family in 14 months and my feelings towards BA cabin crew are far from sympathetic right now. I mean f**king Christmas?!

Anger aside, does anyone know what will happen to me and my ticket if they do strike? Do BA give a refund or just attempt to get you on another flight? Anyone know what my options are? I'd like to be prepared.

Sorry I dont know the answer to your question. I would get in contact with BA now and ask them what will happen to your flight if the strike goes ahead if I were you.

When BA threatend strike action last time (back in early 2007) I was offered to change to another flight for no extra cost or charges. Can't remember now if I just decided to wait it out and see what happened before I made the change, or if the offer was only available once the strike has been confirmed for my travel date. In the end the strike didn't happen so I didn't have to change anything anyway! I think there was a refund option too, but as I needed to get back to Canada, and wasn't going to fork out for a one way ticket on another carrier, I don't remember exactly what that offer was. Best bet is to phone BA and see what they say.
