I know that there is a Chinese buffet which is so so, but I didn't know there was an Indian one. I'd be interested to know where it is.

It is more cafe than restaurant. With a make-do feel to the decor.

The food is good, more authentic Indian than Brit Indian so don't go there looking for a High Street Curry House experience.

Vegetarian dishes predominate with one or two meat (chicken) dishes depending on the day.

If you are looking for the restaurant experience then go to Curry Village on Dresden Row. If you just want an easy Friday night take out, without the hassle of driving to the down town core then Indian Buffet Palace is fine.

For those of you familiar with the Edinburgh curry scene I would say it is somewhere between the original Kushi's and Kalpna.

Well we tried the Buffet Palace last night and it was really good.
Doesn't look much..more kind of cafe/chippy style.
When we arrived they brought some pakora to the table which was a bit different but really tasty.
For main courses they had some veg dishes, biryani and Indian butter chicken with rice and naan.
By the time we were leaving, the place was beginning to fill up.....i get the impression this place will really take off.
And for $9.99 you cant go wrong

To drift at a different ethnic cuisine tangent for a moment.....

I ate at 'Opa!' the Greek place at Bayers Lake on Monday night. It was OK but not as good (or at least as good as my memory of) the one in downtown Halifax.

There was a tv program about a Greek restaurant in Edmonton run by an old fat bloke that did plate smashing. I suppose they have to do something to brighten the boring food.
