A bird got impaled on the pitot, so it's blocked. So no IAS.

How can the treadmill stop the plane from moving through the air? The plane isn't being driven down the runway by its wheels. It's being thrust by its engines. The wheels are turning because of friction between the tires and the runway. All the treadmill can do is change the rate the wheels are spinning. It can't prevent the thrust from moving the airframe. How can a treadmill turning the wheels reduce indicated airspeed to zero?

Who says a puny treadmill is going to stop a plane?

Check out this photo of an Airbus A340 which jumped the chocks during an engine test at the factory in Toulouse just this past Thursday.

Major oops.

Five people injured three apparently still in hospital.

No this was a was fleshy one!

Had this happen. A flock of birds landed on the runway at the wrong time. Just as we rotated there were a few loud bangs, lost several key instruments, a few birds went into the engines and were spat out the back. The only way to abort was by swimming.

This made for a very interesting situation.

Or Air Canada, you have to ring to make sure it can fly; slight technical problems apparently

This is an A-6 Intruder. The guy was sucked into the intake, fortunately for him his helmet came off and jammed up the turbine, the flames coming out the back are likely a result of helmet and compressor blades. He was a bit shaken up though.

A Harrier that's a bit excessive, I just want to buy an APU or the tubine from a GPU ,so I can build one of these.
