It's quite annoying.
- I live in a "bear area"
- We have a compost bin and humming bird feeders.
- Apparently the neighbours have seen loads of them around.
I thought I'd be inundated with the things by now, but whilst there is some bear shit on our land, I still haven't seen one in the flesh. I know el_richo's father in law keeps them as pets, but you'd think there would be one or two left to sniff around our decomposing veggies.
Still, we do have lots of strawberry plants in flower - hopefully that'll attract them when they start to have some fruits on. Though I'm in two minds on this cos I want to actually eat some of them myself.

At my FIL's they're usually around between 6am and 7am, and again between 7pm and 8pm ish. They randomly appear through the day but the former times are more reliable.
The only problem is once they find food source in a place they'll pretty much spend lots of time passing through there, which is nice the first couple of times and then pretty scary onwards since it's not so much fun when they're sitting next to your car waiting to rape the shit out of you

there's lots of them around Vancouver. There's a little rock near Bowen Island that they all sit out on and bask in the sunshine. There's even one that comes up onto the dock if you feed it fish heads. They don't look very scary though.

I think my image stabilization system is finding delerium tremens a trifle challenging.
