Re: I find this sticker offensive.
Be offended by the actions or attitude of an individual, not an inanimate object like a sticker.

Re: I find this sticker offensive.
Having now descended lower than reading a Daily Mail article, by now reading the Daily Express article too, the spat seems to have been brought about by a complaint from a "rival taxi firm". No mention is made of the local pedigree of the offended firm, but the implication is that that firm would be less local. Storm in a teacup really.

But would you get into a cab if it were displaying a Spurs sticker, that is the question. ;)

Re: I find this sticker offensive.
I can only chuckle at this tread, in fact the more i read i shake my head in disbelief and that is putting it mildly
It seems that some are only too happy to take offence, real or imagined Now i am somewhat of a expert on offensive signs So welcome to the real world, right here in quebec province, where it seems it is a mortal sin to have an English sign welcome to this province where English signs are barely tolerated for instance this started with Eaton's which sounded too english so the offending apostrophe was removed I am referring of course to the local language cops, state sponsored bigotry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_...fran%C3%A7aise |
Re: I find this sticker offensive.
Don't you normally just take the first taxi in the rank? Can you pick the one you want?

At other ranks, I usually take the first one. Spoiler:

Re: I find this sticker offensive.
So my guess is that the rival taxi firm has drivers who are equally local but of an ethnicity.

Re: I find this sticker offensive.
I don't think her stickers are racist, but they are condescending.
I was in a cab the other day and the driver was punjabi and quite honestly he spoke English better than I do. |
Re: I find this sticker offensive.
Interestingly, since this story has come up I have noticed that a number of cabs have discreet England flags at their rear. I think it is possible to get a registration plate with an England flag (instead of UK or EU) too.
