The sooner imperial measurements die, the better.

Only 3 countries in the world left that are still officially imperial - USA, Myanmar, Liberia. Illustrious company I think you'll agree

Was time ever converted to imperial/metric?

I want to travel from point A to point B and the distance is 100 kilometres or 62.1371 miles. The speed limit is 100kmh or 62.1371 mph how long will it take to drive from point A to point B with no stops and driving the speed limit? What is the metric/imperial time it will take?

I need 4 bananas does it really matter if the price and weight is in kilos or pounds. Do I pay less for the 4 bananas?

Far too much thought going into this

In most conversion situations, not only measuring units, but also currency, retailers tend to take advantage of the confusion at the time of transition to increase the price of products. :(

Computers have used metric time for decades. They just convert it to dummy-time for display to the dimwitted fleshbags staring at their screens*

* and I say this as a dimwitted fleshbag currently staring at a screen

That's not really true - countries in the Far East, Middle East, and Europe use "Bigendian" (Y-M-D) dates extensively or generally.

And 0°C isn't exactly a "base", now is it? I would have thought living in Canada in February you would appreciate that!

I don't know what the official date format is in Canada, but well the date can be one of several variations.

Looking at my pharmacy bottle they have the date Day/Month/Year

Looking at a blank check the bank wants year-month-day

Looking at a monthly statement from the provincial government they have the date Month-Day-Year.

I can't recall what the feds do.

There is no consistency in the date here.

Celsius is pretty simple. Water freezes at 0. It boils at 100. Makes perfect, logical, reasonable, sense. I defy anyone to explain the "wisdom" behind fahrenheit... something about salty water and body temperature (which is incorrect). Magic spells and incantations...

That's what Wikipedia says  Canada is the only country that uses a mix of all three date formats, obviously because of its big neighbour which is the only country in the world that uses the daft M-D-Y format and that is bleeding over the border. :(

Canada is officially (Canadian Standards Association, and Federal govt) big endian/ISO8601 for dates (YYYYMMDD).

Medical dates are also officially big endian/ISO8601, for obvious reasons.

I use bigendian dates for my computer files, and have done for about as long as I have used a computer for business. It is the only way that makes any sense.
