About $130/month. One call to the UK, 20 minutes per week, otherwise no calls some text, use for internet access when the house service is down so a couple of hours a week in winter, maybe an hour a month in summer. The data usage doesn't alter the bill so I suppose it's under the cap.

I"m paying $45/month unlimited Canadian calls and texts, 6 gb of data (I use less than 1 gb a month), caller ID etc and voice mail make it about $60/month. The phone is off contract (Iphone 8). In April I had 2880 minutes use (it is my personal and work # - self employed).

I am with Public Mobile, using my unlocked iPhone. I have the $120 / 12GB per 90 Days plan from a few years ago.
I do on occasion add on one of their UK long distance "Add Ons". It used to be 400 minutes per add on, but seems the latest one is $15 for 1000 UK minutes, which is more than enough for me.They have also had the odd free Christmas gift add on thing for the last few years Things such as
$0 Free Holiday Giveaway: 1GB Add-on
$0 Free Holiday Giveaway: 400min INTL Long Distance (incl CA & US)
$0 Free Holiday Giveaway: 500min INTL Long Distance incl CA & US
$0 Holiday Giveaway: 2GB add-on
- This plan includes: -
- - 12GB Data
- - Unlimited International Text
- - Unlimited Provincial Talk

Availability of cell plans varies across the country. So for example, I don't think Shard's costs are achievable here. I've been researching plans as its getting time for #1 daughter to have a cellphone and it seems like SIM only deals (we have an old phone she can use) are around $35/month for 3Gb data and unlimited calls and texts. Thats Virgin Mobile who I believe use Bell's network. Anything Rogers in this part of the world isn't worth it as coverage sucks.
I have the best kind of cell plan personally. One my employer pays for!

$35/m seems very good for Canada. My plan is very low, even for the UK.

Why? I've had on for about 7 years now. I don't live on my phone and use it only if completely necessary. I don't drive and talk, though I do have bluetooth. Would never think of texting while driving or while with other people. Consider that the ultimate rudeness. Our two phone plan in the US is $99 per month. unlimited calling to US and Canada and texting.

What I am learning is that if you want to use convenience with other things in life then you are slowly being forced/advised to get a smart phone. Sorry we won't let you download that app especially on an iMac desktop. Even my youngest was bitching because I decided to use the vehicles on board map rather than the route displayed on his phone. Guess what the vehicle map got me there. Got yourself a new sound bar or some other appliance well unless you have their app downloaded on your phone then you will have difficulty in setting up certain things on it.
I can totally see having one when driving and running into trouble in the middle of nowhere but if no cell coverage then aren't you screwed unless someone stops to help you? I have no idea how reliable my vehicles on board help function would be in this situation.
