How hard is it to order some lunch?
Quite hard it seems.
While I was in the Mall today I decided to grab some lunch as a little treat. Off I went to a well know fast food joint and placed my order. Do you want the original? yes I replied Do you want to supersize? No I replied Do you want fries? Then I repeated my whole order and said yes I want fries with that  For gods sake I just want my lunch, when she said how much it was the alarm bells started to ring, I thought she made an error, maybe she had superzied my order. Not wanting to get her into trouble I just put the change in my pocket and waited. Anyway the order came and she had included poutine as my fries order, that's a damn meal in itself. I looked at it then looked at her and said whats this  Poutine she says, I said I said all I wanted was fries. She told me to wrap it up for later  I said well you placed my order wrong! I was starting to get annoyed by this. I repeated again and said I didn't want it, all I wanted was fries. The manager came over asked the employee if she had asked me for poutine and she said yes. I then said no I didn't! How am I going to eat all this by myself? She then informs me that they don't normally refund food and what I had ordered would have to go in the bin :frown: I never asked for it! I stood my ground and in the end they gave me my fries and refunded the difference. They wanted my signature and my phone number, I signed it then informed them I was on holiday and don't live here :o I know, but I don't want them having my number. Why do they ask all these damn questions, I told them what I wanted its so annoying. |

Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?
I didn't know what it was until today.
Very odd, a mixture of fries, sloppy gravy and chicken |
Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?
Had to look up poutine, now I want some cheese curds (you can't buy them here).

Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?

Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?
This is possibly the most interesting thread since the 'I pulled something that grows out of the earth to make soup and there was dirt in it' thread

Probably so corporate could call you and reimbur$e you for your trouble. It's pretty standard in situations like this. You're SOL now.:(
Next time I'll speak up when I notice something isn't right, but I hate complaining. |

Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?
Just try and get it without Tomato ("Tomaahtoe"). They never get that right:frown:
I have been reduced to dispensing with what little diginity I have left and using the "TomEhto" pronunciation to have any chance of not getting what I dont want:unsure: Cant believe you didnt want to try the (KFC presumably) poutine...its one of lifes great experiences! |

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH just give him a cheese and branston butty and he will be happy! I kept repeating myself and it also didn't help that it was quite noisy and she wasn't the loudest of speakers. Like I said before, I generally don't complain. |

Re: How hard is it to order some lunch?
This all reminds me of when I first arrived in California in 1977.
I was in a gas station and asked if they had a map. The server looked at the floor and asked what I had spilled. |
