That's utterly disgraceful that they can get away with charging exorbitant prices for those with tiny feet.

Karma sent.

Make sure whatever boots you buy have a good tread on them so you remain upright as much as possible.

As for other clothes I find layers of t-shirts and cardies under a warm coat are best as when you get inside the over heated buildings you end up a sweaty nasty heap of redness and steam.

Get a pashmina from John Lewis to wrap around your head and neck, and a warm hat to go over that. Mittens, not gloves will keep your hands warmer.

We are going to London Ontario! Which is where we hope to settle come next summer.

In terms of temps...London won't be too cold relatively speaking..probably at or a bit warmer than Toronto and warmer than places like Barrie, Ottawa etc....if Lake Huron still isn't frozen over by January you may get quite a bit of lake effect snow especially on the NW side of London and between there and Grand Bend...south of town not so much.

No, no, no . . .
Unless you really have a good source of winter clothes in the UK that can stand Canadian winters, don't bother until you get here. Just buy a few layers to survive until you can get some suitable stuff.
Very important is a good pair of waterproof and cold proof boots and some of those metal ice grips for walking on ice (otherwise a twisted ankle is more or less guaranteed one day).
After 10 winters here, I can say after trying several things that these are the best I have used:
